lake crescent engagements
melissa and craig.
these two have known each other since they were like 8 years old or something insane. and they've been dating for most of it. errr the adult part of it at least.
they spent the weekend together at lake crescent lodge. i showed up and we all sipped coffee and sat around the early morning bonfire, then ran around the lodge they stayed in and then out to lake crescent in all it's glory of course. it was magical.
please make it to the whitey tighteys at the end, y'all.
april in the tulip fields
laney and daniel.
i actually know daniel from way back in high school days in florida, so when we both happened to be living in seattle and he happened to have this super badass fiancè moving up from florida, it was magic. i now have a new bff and daniel has a fiance. it's a very good situation all in all.
classy, florida girl, laney wanted some flowers in her engagement photos. conveniently, it was spring. so we got up at the crack of dawn and drove around until we found a flower field. we definitely lucked out.
a walk through queen anne
tracey and daniel.
when these two fell in love, they happened to be living a few blocks away from each other and did the walk between their houses over and over again a million times - to go see each other, to drop each other off, to walk, to talk. they have a million memories on this stroll and we wanted to retrace the steps
then we stopped at their favorite ice cream spot then ran to the watch the sunset over puget sound. it was stunning.
cannot wait for your wedding this summer, lovebirds! xo
morning after in mexico
when your hotel room in mexico overlooks the pacific,
morning after session's are a must.
married in nuevo vallarta
shawna and jay.
both so unbelievably kind and thoughtful and gracious and gorgeous and 'made for each other' doesn't even come close to describing them well enough.
these two went on a vacation to this resort a year ago and decided then that this was where they'd say their I do's. all of their (suuuper fun) friends and family spent the long weekend together with the most beautiful wedding in the world in the middle of it. the sunsets and the beer and everything are just better in mexico, can i get an amen!?
love you two. can't thank you enough for the honor of capturing your day.
also, this is my public confession that every corona i drank at the swim up bar all weekend i put on shawna and jay's room tab and signed it with their last name (is that illegal?), so i am basically their child
point reyes :: engaged
When I got the email from Katie all about Ben and their unbelievably beautiful story and asking to shoot their wedding, I cried. I was over. the. freaking. moon.
I met Katie for the first time a few years ago when I first got to experience all her depth and wisdom that is a level all on it's own. She's one of those women that radiates grace and soul and you can't walk away from a conversation with her without feeling known and loved and encouraged. And then Ben. Seeing how he looks at Katie and makes her laugh and takes care of her and is so tender with her. My heart just burst this whole day.
We made the drive from the Bay area to Point Reyes, stopping for the best grilled cheese on the planet, a little off roading/mudding on the way there, and finally running around Point Reyes in all its glory. None of us were mentally prepared for it to be as cold and windy as it was, like literally none of us checked our weather apps or something because we got there and were like, uh, brrrrr. But thank God Katie brought a blanket that made it's debut pretty much the whole shoot and kept her from getting hypothermia. And I think Ben's beard was all he needed to keep warm.
Love you two. Counting down the days until your wedding.
fairmont morning after
their first morning married. (errr, third if you count their Indian wedding and courthouse ceremony, but who's counting)
these two have so much personality and spunk and graciousness and i am so honored to have met them and so excited for all the laughs their forever is about to be.
enjoy ria and chris, all cozied up on a rainy sunday morning in downtown seattle after their fabulous fairmont ballroom wedding.

loved hanging with these two in their gorgeous #housegoals
narnia engagements
sara and jace and I climbed into this wardrobe thing and fell out the back into this magical winter wonderland
but really. how do we live in the most breathtaking place in the universe. and i get to spend my time running around it with people like this who are obviously fun af because look how hard they are laughing in every picture and everyone knows my jokes suck so thats completely their general aura.
also a shout out to the Big Man Upstairs for ending this session with the perfect snowfall, always coming in clutch with that extra something up there
love these two and cannot wait for their wedding this year!!
New Years Eve Wedding
i had no idea this level of class and sophistication existed.
the aura that surrounds morgan and richard is something like going to therapy. they are unbelievably intentional and kind and gentle and you walk away with a little skip in your step feeling like they gave a little bit of that kindness and grace to you. they just spread it. and then the world just gets a little bit better.
pair that with an evening of happy tears, evening gowns, chandeliers, candlelight, and the most amazing NYE wedding i believe to ever exist - it was like an alternate universe of sophistication with that better-world aura.
love you two. so thankful to have met you and known you.
olympic rainforest elopement
these two long had long-distanced their entire relationship until this sacred day.
leading up to their wedding, they spent every weekend they had together exploring the coast and the olympic national forest and everywhere in-between looking for their perfect place to say their vows. when they came to this enchanted rainforest, dripping with moss and enveloped in green, they knew they found it. a month later, standing there, watching them promise this life to each other, with the river in the background as their music and surrounded by their closest people, we all cried. after their family toasted them, we raced to the coast to run around during the sunset.
it was such an honor to spend your day with you shelli and matt, love you two.
ferry pop-up wedding
everything about this day.
brandy and matt wanted their day to be them. adventurous but laid back, and mostly a goooood party. mission accomplished. we got ready in downtown seattle, ran around getting coffee and steak sandwiches after their first look, then hopped on the ferry with all their people, and ran to the top for a pop-up ceremony. (ferries are public transit in seattle ya'll, you can't like, reserve these things) so a friend was ready with a bag of candy to ask any commuters if we could kindly have their seat, ha!
the emotions ran high as these two committed this life to each other, and the pastor shouted their vows over the noises of the boat and the waves while the rest of us wiped our eyes. and then off to Alderbrook for whiskey and dancing. congratulations you two, love you. xx
thank you alex modisette for shooting with me and your contributions to this post!
torrey pines engagement
stephanie and ayaboe.
these two woke up at 3am to drive from LA to San Diego to watch the sunrise and run around on the cliffs and the beach with me and i love them for it. and they brought me brownies and rosé which took that love to the next level.
i couldn't get through a single editing session of these two without crying. i was so moved by their energy. how they laugh and play and love each other. ayaboe and steph, thankful for you guys. stoked you two found each other and get to spend this life together. xx
joshua tree :: engaged
Anita and Matt are two San Francisco natives that met during a warriors game. Fate, obviously.
They went to Joshua Tree to celebrate Matt's birthday and their engagement and i had the honor of getting to document their playful, adventurous love. congrats you two !
ashley & connor :: mukilteo wedding
when new jersey and alaska meet.
probably two of the biggest personalities in america. and it makes for an unbelievable dance party. i got the privilege of getting to become friends with ashley and connor when we slipped on ice a lot together during their engagement shoot and the rest was history. seeing each other fall down is oddly bonding.
fast forward to august. the amount of family that loves these two is unreal. her b.a. make-up artist of a sister did her make-up, hence the tears starting already during the getting ready. doing a first look with her brother before he walked her down the aisle was the sweetest thing i have ever seen. connors face of strength and gentleness through the whole day. every single detail in here was made by ashley and connor, the wooden name plates, the cross that looked over their vows, the cement vases that held their succulent gifts. they made it all. #goals
you two are going to have a beautiful life. so thankful to have gotten to document this sacred day.
special thanks to Kristin Hallak and all her magic for shooting this gorgeous wedding with me.
amber & mo :: blake island engagements
when lovers are up for an adventure.
amber & mo picked me up in their boat in west seattle on seattle's most gorgeous summer day to date. we yelled and laughed over the wind on our way to blake island where they spend a lot of their weekends camping together and they wanted the sacredness the island has been in their relationship captured in their images. we climbed rocks, ran through the forest, dodged poison oak, ran around on the beach, and capped off the evening with an icy plunge.
love these two and cannot wait for their wedding next year.
siera & carter :: wedding
this day could not have been more perfect.
these two walk in a depth with their friendships, and it was felt in the way their people celebrated with them eager, happy tears the whole day. Siera's face was literally glowing she was so full of joy and life. and Carter walked around like he was the luckiest dude alive. So excited for you two and the beautiful life you have ahead of you xx
marriage :: day one
the morning after.
andrea, kyle and I said goodnight after the wedding, and the next morning at 10am I knocked on their hotel room door. they stayed in their comfy clothes and post wedding hair and curled up while we drank coffee and smiled all the smiles and I got to capture how restful their hearts were now that the party was over and life with just them was beginning.
this morning was intimate and peaceful and vulnerable. it was beautiful.
andrea & kyle :: wedding
When the boss set Kyle up with his daughter, and it worked.
Kyle and Andrea's love is tender and gentle, and the high esteem they hold for each other is felt in the way they speak and look at one another. They had a beautiful, outdoor ceremony outside of Indianapolis with their crazy amount of brothers and sisters that were all some of the kindest people I've ever met.
Congratulations you two, so stoked for your forever together.
rosee & dane
sometimes i don't even have to say anything.
all these two did was laugh with each other and i couldn't get enough. we ran around the beach and played in the freezing water of Puget Sound and watched the gorgeous Seattle summertime sunset. we went home and they made me a goop recipe which made me dislike gwyneth less and smoked cigars and laughed. cheers to these two.
