lake kachess lovin
aubrey & matt.
they are my dogs new fairy godmothers and also my new best friends yall.
we hiked in the snow in the wrong direction for an hour until one of us look at map, which i think was probably Matt. but its cool bc we were all dressed really appropriately for 9 feet of snow in our heels and vans. i kept bitchin about the numbness of my toes and the toe i could feel danglin in between toes that still had feelings, i didnt even think about how much colder Aubreys must be considering snow was like inside her shoe the whole time until i looked through these photos and was like, ‘wow she didnt even complain, sooooo positive’ so anyway thats what i’ll do next time is bitch less. Thanks for the inspo Aubrey.
congratulations you two. so excited for you two and your beautiful love.
cassia & jason
we solved the worlds traffic problems, ran around in the snow, and drank hot toddies.
love you two. cant wait wait for your wedding this summer. xxxx
josie & chris
damn, talk about enjoying your wedding day.
there was not a single time I’d look over at Josie and she wasn’t dancing with her flower girl or laughing with one of her girls or singing along to whatever song was on. and then every time I’d look at Chris he was usually staring at his hot wife cause … duh.
Josie & Chris got married at The Foundry on New Years Eve with the 10,000 best friends they have. and in between getting ready and getting married, we all partied on a party bus that was a renovated school bus and was the coolest thing i’ve ever seen.
love you two and how much you love life. congratulations on your life together. its going to be beautiful.
morning after at the cartier mansion
day one of marriage
spent in this mansion that was built in 1659 or something. it’s was so regal and from a different lifetime that george washington probably stayed here once. in this very same room most likely.
i usually cry when im editing bc like, my soul is in it. but these i cried a lot. the whole time really. because i loved seeing these two love each other. i love everything marriage stands for and i love getting to put the very first day of it into images. capturing the intimacy they are walking into in their lives. the knowing. the being known. the new eagerness. the gentleness. all of it.
love you courtney and dan. so much.
married on lake michigan
this day.
october in on lake michigan with the leaves in their golden prime and a chilly rain coming and going as it wished. (which is good luck, as we all know)
they got ready in their families cabin overlooking the lake. they said their vows in a little white chapel in historic Pentwater. then partied in all their married bliss under all the twinkle lights in a gorgeous log cabin. it was beautiful.
love you Courtney & Dan.
black diamond gardens wedding
love you nadia & patrick.
these two got married in a this gorgeous greenhouse just south of seattle on this perfect fall day where the leaves couldn’t have had a more perfect hue of orange and the weather went between rain and sun at all the right times.
photos of nadia & patrick giggling together could be a blog of it’s own. loved watching them laugh and play together all day.
congratulations sweet friends xxoo
engaged in seattle
when engagement pictures are everywhere they’ve built their love together.
we ran around inside their beautiful home. they spent 45 minutes talking about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on their first date so obviously we had to whip some of those up. we said hi to the chickens. we ran around their neighborhood of greenlake. and then down to discovery park. and then i peer pressured them to get some Uneeda burger with my fam. it was a good time.
love you sarah & pete
seattle rooftop wedding
When the classiest people ever get married.
Jordan and AD got married at Hotel Ballard in the sun-drenched, chandelier covered rooftop with champagne overflowing on a perfect August evening. These two grew up having the kind of friendships that run deep, so the amount of tears and depth and family in the room was rich, and basically everyone (myself included) cried all day. It was beautiful.
love you two. so excited for your lives together. xox
idaho is for lovers
kelsey & michael
so much love for these two and this day. kelsey & michael got married at a family friends stunning property in sandpoint, idaho- where they met and fell in love.
one of my favorite things i've ever seen - during their ceremony, they did a ring warming ceremony, where the guests pass around the rings to say a blessing over them and their marriage and their union. i loved it because it totally encompasses what the heart of a ceremony is - asking all your people to be a part of the union you are walking into.
make sure you make it to the end to see what a north idaho wedding ends like.
love you two. xox
engaged in pioneer square
a night out with this power couple.
we basically ran around the entire city together. we started at their townhouse in capitol hill that has the best art collection i've ever seen and i of course came home and shopped for all of it. then we drove around in search of the best rooftop (as you'll see, we found it). then off to pioneer square we happened upon some dance festival thing, that they hopped right into and surprising didn't get kicked out. and then ran off to watch the sunset on the pier.
you guys are the best.
married in oahu
Tracey & Daniel
married underneath the huge monkeypod tree in the paradise of north shore Oahu.
all their people came in from california, seattle, taiwan, and obviously hawaii. and spent not just the day, but the entire week (two for some!) celebrating. their ceremony was breathtaking. everyone partaking in communion together with the sun shining through a tiny mist while they laugh-cried through their vows.
tracey surprised everyone and did a hula (she was like the best in hawaii growing up, no big deal), and then daniel had learned the dance two days (!) before and joined her and her sister and nailed it. also, a banzai cheer! omg. was probably my height of excited energy in the universe because it was so cool to be a part of.
also every pin, table number, and pot you see, Tracey made herself in all her boss-ness.
love you two. thank you x a million for letting me be a part of your day (and bringing me to heaven!)
mount tamalpais engagements
brian & julia.
when we were planning their engagement session and brian threw out a couple gorgeous locations in the area, I google imaged some of his ideas and found two favorite pictures i thought would be super photogenic. i showed brian and he tells me the first picture is the place where they got engaged, mount tam, and the second picture is where they had their engagement party, muir beach. so that was easy. and perfect. and off we went.
taking your photos in the place where your big moments happened is huge. instead of the beach, it's your beach. instead of a field, its your field. it makes every photo have that much more sentiment. and that much more of a story. and that much more feeling.
love you brian & julia. thank you for soul food and being the funnest and being amazing listeners and helping me find a natural deodorant that actually works.

married in the redwoods
katie and ben.
this day was who they are. it was sacred, where they said their vows, nestled in the redwoods towering over all of us. it was full, they have a trillion friends between the two of them, so there was constantly laughter and play in the background. it was enchanting, spending the candlelit evening sharing unbelievable food with all their people. and it was purposeful, katie and ben don't do anything half-heartedly, so every speech and every conversation reflected their own intentionality.
these two have a remarkable love. it is pure and eager and knowing. katie wrote to me in one of her emails early on that, 'i have truly come to know, deeply in my bones, that the heart expands'. i think about those words all the time. they've effected my own marriage and my parenting and the way my family navigates our own lives. they have effected me so much, i think, because of the knowledge behind the words. those words aren't ignorant to pain and loss but they still speak from that knowing with hope and joy and eagerness for the future.
and that's the thing about katie and ben. they are pourers. they have so much to give, in heart and soul, and hand it out freely. i got to jot down to berkeley to shoot this stunner of a day and I'm the one the walked away encouraged. it's just how they are.
love you two.
wedding in the leavenworth mountains
anjuli & matt.
everything about this day was a dream. we were tucked in the cool of the Leavenworth mountains, with golden fields all around us. the handful of cabins on the property were full of all their family and friends for the entire weekend, and their ceremony was right in the center of it all. these two are an absolute party and I loved getting to be a party of it.
so excited for you two.
xxxx
morning after at the nest
love these two.
sara gave me a room key on wedding day, so when i showed up the next morning i just made sure to knock extremely loud for about 6 minutes before i came in.
this morning after was such a bittersweet session - getting to be a part of engagements, boudoir, wedding day, and then this, it felt like the perfect cherry on top of capturing this season for them, but also the saddest goodbye. also the happiest. i guess. if im being happy for them. but for me, selfishly, the saddest.
so excited for you lovers. xxx
sodo seattle wedding
sara and jace.
meeting your soulmate is one thing, but meeting your sense of humors soulmate is a whole other story, and these two had some divine intervention on that perfect match. and it's obvious because all they do is laugh. and it's freaking life-giving to be around.
love these two. and this day.
